Objectives | The Discharger owns and operates a wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal system, and provides sewerage service to the City of Turlock, and the community service districts of Keyes and Denair. Treated combined municipal and industrial wastewater is discharged to the Harding Drain downstream of the Turlock Irrigation District (TID) Lateral No. 5 Drain, tributary to the San Joaquin River, a water of the United States. The Harding Drain is a man-made agricultural drainage facility desinged and maintained by TID for drainage purposes. Along with treated wastewater from the City of Turlock, orchard crops, municipal stormwater flows, local runoff due to precipitation, flows from groundwater dewatering wells and subsurface drains, urban runoff, and historically, illegal runoff from dairies. |
