Objectives The Discharger discharges multi media filter backwash water from the Sierra Conservation Center Water Treatment Plant. The treatment system consists of two clay lined settling ponds. Wastewater is discharged from Discharge Point No. 001 to Shotgun Creek, a water of the United States, and a tributary to Tulloch Reservoir and the Stanislaus River, within the San Joaquin River Watershed. In addition to the surface water discharge, the Facility disposes backwash for landscape irrigation during dry months. During the dry season, all the backwash water is discharged into the settling ponds, and then pumped to a containment pond from which the water is used for irrigation.
