| Objectives | Valley Waste Disposal Company (VWDC) owns and operates an oil field produced water reclamation facility (Kern Fron No. 2 treatment plant) serving oil field operators in the Kern Front oil field. The site is south of James Road and Oil Fields Road near Bakersfield. Produced water from the oil field is treated to remove oil, grease and inorganic sediments then conveyed to the Cawelo Water District (CWD) for reclamation on farm land, and for groundwater recharge within the CWD. VWDC and CWD are hereafter collectively referred to as the Discharger. During periods when the CWDs water storage and conveyance facilities are shut down for maintenance, VWDC stores produced water in storage ponds on VWDCs property. |
