Objectives The Shasta facility consists of chipped and un-chipped biomass storage areas, a mechanical debarker, hog, chipper, and conveyors, boilers, generators, cooling towers, switchyard, equipment fueling and maintenance, aboveground and underground petroleum storage, chemical and waste storage, paved and unpaved roadways, laboratory and office. The Shasta facility s waste include: cooling tower blowdown, boiler blowdown, reject water from a reverse osmosis system, fuel storage pile leachate and seepage, fly ash, bottom ash, waste petroleum products, sewage, groundwater from under drain systems, and storm water runoff.
